The Implanted Word (James 1)

James writes in his letter, in Chapter 1, about firstfruits and the implanted word. This brings up a couple of questions: If there are first fruits, then what are the second fruits? And when exactly does the Christian receive the word implanted in them? Let's examine verses 18-21 and the verses surrounding them to examine these questions.
