There are several places in the New Testament that gives us instruction on how our public prayers should be. Prayer is to be an expression from the heart for the congregation, not a pulpit. Prayer is to be a collective emotion of the congregation, not a chance to be in the spotlight. Prayer should be heart-felt and sincere, not just a collection a memorized phrases. Let's examine what the scriptures have to say about how to properly pray in our public worship.
