Striving For Perfection While Living With Imperfections
Even though the scriptures tell us that we are to be perfect, like our Heavenly Father is perfect (Matt. 5:48), we often hear those around us discourage us by saying that since we cannot be perfect, we shouldn't even try to be. We have for us, a perfect Father, Son, example, and Law. Therefore, we ought to actively cleanse ourselves of our sin and imperfections in our lives when we can, consciously put our sin and our past behind us, and embrase the imperfections we cannot change, as a means of making us stronger.
