(As this is Part 1 of  a 3 lesson series, all three outlines are included in the downloadable file.) A look at 2 passages, 2 Sam 10&11 and the book of James, focusing on how David went from being a man after God's own heart to killing Uriah. James 4:2 talks about lust being connected to murder. This might seem a bit extreme. But there is usually a progression from small sins to larger ones.

1. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time

Pro 6:20, 22; 7:6-9

2. He wasn't doing what he should have been doing

Pro 7:10-22

3. He saw what he shouldn't have seen

James 1:13-15; 2  Pet 2:14

4. He asked questions he shouldn't have asked

James 3:2, 6

Sin starts with a spark put it out, don't fan the flame.
