Sermons From Our Minister
Laboring for the Lord
The Jews had several feasts and festivals that celebrated various aspects of life and God's provision(s). One of the so-called pilrim feasts (which required all Jewish males to journey to Jersalem) was the Feast of Ingatherings/Booths (or Tabernacles),which commemorated not only completion of the harvest, but also a time when they dwelled in tents or tabernacles while journeying from Egypt to Canaan. This Labor Day weekend, Americans celebrate the contributions of the U.S. labor force. Many celebrate it by dwelling in tents! However, this lesson seeks to focus our attention on Laboring for the Lord, and what the N.T. has to say about it.
