Idolatry: Ancient and Modern
**Please note: Apparently I had "brain cramp" during this lesson and inadvertantly said something untrue relative to one of the examples I used. The chemical insecticide DDT was once used (in powder form) to delouse children and adults. It was not used as a defoliant in Vietnam ("Agent Orange" was a mixture of 2-4-5-T and 2-4-D, not D-D-T as I stated). I knew better, but just got my chemicals confused, and realized the mistake as soon as I sat down after completing the lesson. I apologize for any confusion. However, the illustration is still valid since "accepted science" and "the government" of the day approved the application of this chemical as a farm and household chemcial that we now know to be very dangerous (DDT is banned in most countries). Again, apologies for misspeaking, Philip C. Strong.
