Perhaps it is part of our American heritage (though I think it is much more universal), but most of us relish and cheer for the “underdog.”  We like to see the “small” or “disadvantaged” guy/team win instead of the “big” or “advantaged” one.  This may well be why we/I gravitate to texts like Acts 4:1-13....
